Frizzy Semi-Wavy hair?

I have frizzy semi-wavy hair that poofs out if i let it loose. I usually wear it in a pony tail, but the pony tail isn't enough enough. Its just too frizzy. Ive tried wearing it in braids, but braids are too much of a hassel. Im planning to cut my hair. But im not sure wat length or wat style. If i cut it really short, like a boyish hair, would it poof out and look bad- ( and i won't be able to tie it up anymore)? Would layering my hair take the poof out? I need some suggestions please :)

NO layering wont take out the poof, but a flat iron will totally take it out. I got a bad perm and its poofy and ugly............. until I take out the flat iron. Then its beautifully straight and stays that way until I wash my hair again.

I used to have the same problem, the best way to take care of it, especially if you want to keep your hair long (mine is down to the middle of my back) is to have it cut in long layers (keeps from "poofing") and use a hair serum on it. Put a little on your hair when you get out of the shower and then again after it has dried to keep the frizz away. It will work everytime!

I would say, do not cut it too short. Long hair will weigh it down and reduce the pouf.

Get a haircut with long top layers so that it will cut the volume. Normal layering will only increase the pouf - regular layering is designed to increase volume, not to cut it. See if your hairdresser can thin the hair ( get frequent cuts if you end up thinning it)

Use a conditioner designed for frizzy hair. Do not wash it every day. Find a leave in conditioner that you can use after washing the hair. A good hair gel to cut volume is also useful.

Finally, accept your hair and let it be curly/wavy :) A good haircut can make curls look beautiful.

hmm. i have the same hair.

if your hair is past your shoulder get long layers and maybe get it thinned out after you get the layers if you feel ur hair is still poofy after the layers.

garnier fructis sleek and shine system helps:

shampoo,

conditioner,

smoothing milk

just use the whole sleek and shine products. even the shampoo and conditioner alone make a difference after using it a coupla weeks.

you can also try to straighten your hair to take the frizz and poof out. but if you dont want to use a straightner then just use the products to take the frizz out and layers to take the poof out.

i had the same prob.
