Tips on styling my hair.. (picture included)?

my hair looks like that (except of a few inches shorter) when it is styled by my hairstylist..

but when i try to style it, it never turns out right.

she has taught my how but i just didnt know if anyone had tips for styling it to achieve that look.

If the problem is that it flips out instead of under try directing it back when u blow dry it. Or you could try a flat iron and then blow dry the roots for volume, and a round brush on the ends so it goes under.
