What would you do if your hairdresser of 18 months just cut your hair and you absolutely hate it?

I had long hair that I would straighten and wash once a week. I am a working Mum and don't have time to style it everyday. I wanted something just below my shoulders and with a bit of movement in it, but still needed to be able to wear it up.

I ended up with a short style (about 10 cm's too short) which I can barely scrape up into this miniscle bun and I need clips to hold it back. My hairdresser knew full well I only did my hair once a week and now I have to do it nearly everyday, apart from the fact that I detest it and am borderline depressed over it. The colour has also faded off and it has only been in two weeks.

Should I go somewhere else and get them to fix it and never go back there? Or ring back, complain and get them to do something with it and re colour it? I don't want this girl ever touching my hair again (it's not the first time she has done an average job) so it will be really uncomfortable for everyone if another hairdresser from there starts doing my hair.

I would talk to the owner/manager of the shop and let them know your disatisfaction. They deserve to know customers' feelings about their employees.

Then go elsewhere, but do not knock the place you left, just say you are looking for something new.

Happened to me before. I complained, didn't pay for my haricut, and never went back to her again.

Wow that must sound like it sucks! Same thing happened to my friend too. Just find a new Salon to go to and make sure you trust that person who's cutting your hair!

I would say call them back and have them fix the problem- talk to the manager though and maybe have someone else work with you. If this does not take care of the problem, start shopping for a new stylist.

i would call and get my money back. then i would tell them that i want it re-colored for free. tell them that you were not satisfied with them (and this isn't the first time) and you will be taking your business elsewhere.

first of all, don't let the new shortness of your hair stress you...it will grow back in time. if i were you, i'd ask my hairdresser why he/she cut my hair so short when he/she knew i'd only be doing it once a week. talking helps a lot....and maybe you can look up some pictures on the internet of some nice short hairstyles that don't take much time to get. good luck with your new hair

Well I would say if you have been going there for 18 months then there has to be some kind of relationship that has built between you two. I would definitely go back to him/her and tell them that how you hated the cut and that the color was fading, and get if fixed for very little or free. Then, if they're not willing to help you out. Move on to someone else. Because obviously then that would mean that they care about is making money and not the happiness of the customer, and believe me, there are some really good hairdressers out there that actually do care about how the customer feels.

Well your best bet is to go to another hair dresser at a different salon and explain what you don't like about it. Then tell them what you would like it to do and they should know how to fix it.

hmm. I know what you mean I had a hairdresser cut my hair in a bob even tough I didn't request it, He said he thought this style suites me best. I was very P%$##$ off. Ring the salon and complain to the manager and ask for arefund then say you will never go there again and you will tell everyone you know to never go there again unless she gets rid of this stupid girl ( only say those things when you get your refund). Then go to a good salon and get your hair fixed and wait for it to grow back. If yo go there and get them to fix it they might do an even worse job out of spite just don't risk going there again.

Not that it matters but I'm guessing you tipped her anyway didn't you? We all do that because we think it's mandatory.

So you're not happy but there's no sense going back there, they can't fix this one. That is up to nature so I hope your hair grows quickly. Myself, I would call the owner and express my displeasure. I would also tell them that under the circumstances I will not be back.
