Keeping Hair Healthy?

I just cut my hair really short.

The only way to style it is to straighten it.

I can't put it in a ponytail seeing as it is too short.

What can I do to keep my hair healthy while flat ironing it almost daily?

Basically (condition) it everyday. Always use conditioner, and apply some anti frizz serum, it keeps it soft, and shiny and healthy. Without that my hair is so dry. That's my advice.

And always use some serum when you straighten it, or buy some Smooth Cream, that's what it's called, It's a pink tube. It's the best for when straighting your hair. It prevent it from burning, and breakage. Stop buy a salon and ask about it, they should sell it at a beauty store also.

Keep it moisturized, that's the key!! ( dry hair breaks)

Hope it helps!! = )

Moisture! Lots of moisture. Use a natural shampoos with lots of moisture-based ingredients, like coconut, shea butter and banana, get yourself a fantastic, thick conditioner, and look into some great, natural hair masks or leave-ins. The Body Shop has some unbelievable ones.

A really good thing to do every couple of weeks: completely puree an avocado , and work it into your hair. Wrap your hair up in a warm towel, relax for 10-20 minutes, then wash it out. Enjoy!

There's this product by Loreal that helps you shield the heat. It's hot pink colored and I think it's something called Hot Cream?

Good Luck.

Unlike what the poster Lisette said, using heat tools on your hair will damage it. The best thing to do is let it air dry, or use a blow dryer on a cool or warm setting if you must.

The best way to take care of your hair is using a shampoo with no SLS and conditioner with no silicone derivatives. Since your hair is short, you might not need conditioner until it grows longer. I recommend Jason Natural hair products: http://www.jason-natural.com/products/ev...

You can find them at Long's Drugs, Whole Foods or it's cheapest if you order online from vitacost.com

Since your hair is short, how about pinning it with bobby pins or mini claw clips? I always think that looks cute.

Pick a product that says "head activated" or "heat protection" on the label. These will keep yout hair healthy and safe from damage.
