Bangs for curly hair?

i have long curly hair that u just relaxed but it isnt that..straight..so i wanted to cut some and get bangs and layers but my mom says it wont work and will be all over the place and stick up! is there anyway i could get bangs (not side or curly bangs) i wanted to have straight bangs and the rest can be curly but i want it straight but cut a really cool way. i know this is confusing but there is some pictures of styles i like but i dont think they would work..

basically, i would like shorter hair but not too short, straight bangs, and possible layers. would that work? as i said i have curlyish hair right now but the front is more straight than the ends so i just want to cut the curls off..PLEASE HELP AS BEST YOU CAN!

Bangs for curly hair?

A relaxer does just that. It relaxes the curl. It is not permanant straightening. You could invest in a good straight iron. I know several people with course, excessively curly hair that flat iron it and leave it for a few days. Which means it can't get wet. At all. But especially after a relaxer using a flat iron will make all your hair break off. Layers are pretty much not even an option. You could compromise and get the bangs but you would have to flat iron them, ALL the time. They get wet, they shrink back into the curls. Not pretty.
